Please be sure that you have had the opportunity to attend your 6 week follow-up appointment with your OB or Midwife and have been approved to resume physical activity prior starting any fitness regimen postpartum ,
Once approved to begin exercising again, it is highly recommend that you first see a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist for an assessment. This assessment will give you a full understanding of your postpartum core and pelvic floor strength, helping you to decide what your body is prepared for in terms of activity. The Core+Floor Program includes an initial Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy assessment and in my humble opinion, is the ideal place to get back to fitness for all new moms.
For whatever reason, these programs have always attracted the most awesome moms! The right mix of sleep deprivation, adventuring through the unknown (even if it's their 3rd or 4th baby!) and still looking to become stronger, increase depleted energy stores and to blow off some steam continues to bring together an amazing community of mamas and their littles!
The Core+Floor, Hot Mama and MamaYoga programs are all led with the passion of an 8 year Prenatal and Postpartum Fitness Specialist (10 Years as a personal trainer) and most importantly, the mom of two toddler girls!
With the many years experience that I have had working with new moms, plus personally experiencing the recovery from two very different birth experiences, I feel confident in supporting you through your postpartum fitness journey.
Although the well being of each baby/child is the responsibility of each mom, for a small fee we are able to offer the aid of our wonderful Child Care Monitor Colleen. She is present during both the Hot Mama and the Core+Floor classes to help with the toddlers! She does crafts and keeps the older children occupied. We love her and she is worth it! At this time as social distancing with littles is challenging, Colleen will be wearing a mask and keeping a detailed sanitation regimen.
